Trail Examples:

• Rocha do Chambre Trail (Average Time: 02H30): This route leads to the highlands of the island’s center, passing through green fields and rural areas. The views from the peak and surrounding mountain ranges are breathtaking, offering a unique hiking experience. This route showcases the interior of Terceira Island over 8.8 km. The trail reaches an altitude of 700 meters, so it’s advisable to hike it on days with good weather and visibility.
• Mistérios Negros Trail (Average Time: 02H30): This trail runs through the nature reserve of Serra de Santa Bárbara and the Mistérios Negros in the Terceira Natural Park, which is also part of the Special Conservation Zone of Serra de Santa Bárbara and Pico Alto of the Natura 2000 Network and the Santa Bárbara Caldera and Mistérios Negros Geosite.
